Captions Lite offers advanced tools for manual editing and is only available on Android. As a result, the Lite subscription can only be restored and used on Android devices.

Sign In

To sign in to Captions Lite, use the same login method you used at sign-up to restore your subscription. Projects are stored locally and won’t sync across devices, so they’re only available on the device where they were created.

Log Out

To log out of Captions Lite, tap on “Profile” and then “Log out.” Before logging out, please know that all projects will be deleted as soon as you log out.

How to Update Captions Lite

If a feature is missing or something isn’t working as expected, you may be using an outdated version of the app. We release updates weekly, so we recommend keeping Captions Lite up to date. To update manually:
  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Tap your profile icon
  3. Tap “Manage apps & device”, then “Manage”
  4. Tap “Captions Lite”
    • If it’s not listed, you’re already on the latest version
  5. Tap “Update”
To enable automatic updates:
We also recommend turning on automatic updates to keep the app current without manual checks. Here’s how:
  1. In the Play Store, search for Captions Lite
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner
  3. Check “Enable auto update”

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the Captions app is available on all devices that run Android. Depending on the device, the app may look slightly different.
In order to download and use the Captions Android app, your device must be running Android 7.0 or newer. If your app has not been updated in a few years and is still running Android 6.0 or older, the app will not work. You can read more on Google’s website.
The Captions Android app is available in Arabic, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Filipino, Finnish, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Ukrainian.
You can sign in on multiple devices. However, keep in mind that if you purchased your subscription on the Play Store, your subscription is associated with you Play Store account. That means that you can only restore the subscription on Android devices in which you are signed in with the same Google Account.
Captions is similar to CapCut in that you can easily create, generate, and edit videos to be uploaded and shared to social media platforms. While there are differences, many customers find that Captions is a great alternative.
