1. Verify your subscription is active
Go to Profile in the Captions app and confirm your current plan. If your subscription has lapsed, renew it and try exporting again.2. Check if you used Max-only features on a Pro plan
Certain features require a Max subscription. If you used any of the following on a Pro plan, your export will include a watermark:- Co-Editor
- AI Edit
- AI-generated media (images or videos)
- AI Creator (for non-grandfathered users)
3. Confirm you’re logged into the correct account
If you signed in with a different login method than usual, you may have accidentally created a new free account. Go to Profile and verify that the account shown is the one with your active subscription.4. For App Store subscribers
Make sure the device is signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. Mismatched Apple IDs can cause subscription status to not carry over.If your subscription is active, you’re on the correct account, and you haven’t used any Max-only features, the watermark may indicate a bug.
